During my time at York St John University, I contributed to The Yorkie which is the university’s dedicated news website where sport and journalism students publish their work. Writing for The Yorkie gave me the chance to report on real stories, work to professional deadlines, and see my articles published alongside those of other emerging journalists. It was a hands-on way to develop my reporting skills, refine my writing style, and gain confidence producing content for a public audience. It also help me to gain a better understanding of how to apply media law into a working newsroom, assuring i reported effectively, accurately and fairly.
