Radio was never one of my strongest areas, and during the module I often found it challenging to bring energy and emphasis into my voice when reading directly from a script. I struggled to make my tone sound natural and engaging, which affected my confidence in the medium. However, since creating and uploading my own personal videos to TikTok, with voice-overs I wrote and recorded myself, I’ve learned a lot about pacing, tone, and how to sound more expressive. Practising in a more relaxed, creative environment has helped me develop a stronger, more engaging vocal style, and I can now appreciate how much technique and personality go into producing effective radio content.
